Plans for Today
This morning, after picking up all of the dear chil’en in the bus, my high schoolers and I are flying on a charter plane to the village of Venetie for a district-wide volleyball tournament. We’ll play volleyball and socialize with other students and staff. Three days of sitting in bleachers in the gym, and three nights of sleeping on classroom floors. I wish I could say I was more excited about it but right now, I wish I were staying home. We’ll be back on Friday afternoon.
My mom is flying in to Fairbanks today. She took two weeks off from work to come for a visit and to help us with the kiddos while Stephanie teaches. Since I will be out of pocket, Stephanie is going to drive in to Fairbanks with the boys and meet Mom at the airport. They’ll hit the road again shortly after she lands and hopefully be back in Circle around 8PM.
I’ll write again later today, probably from the floor of a darkened classroom, keeping watch by night.

We're heading to NYC tomorrow with 70 middle schoolers for the Radio City Music Hall Christmas program. Wish me luck!
